Anna Choi, flute
Anna Choi received her Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance and Master of Arts in Teaching Music degree from the University of Southern California. She also holds a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music and a Bilingual Teaching Certification from USC. She is an award-winning solo musician who has actively performed locally.
She has won numerous concerto competitions and has been featured as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Brentwood-Westwood Orchestra, the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra (OCYSO), and the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Symphony Orchestra. She has been a principal flutist of the USC Symphony Orchestra, OCSA Chamber Orchestra, and the OCYSO. From years 2004 to 2012, she has been a recipient of Leni Fe Bland Music Scholarship from Santa Barbara Foundation. While attending the USC Thornton School of Music, she received the music scholarship of the Dean’s List.
She was awarded the OCYSO’s “Music Director’s Award” and was given the OCHSA’s “Best Wind Player Award” and “Most Promising Musician Award”. As a frequent winner of auditions, she received numerous music scholarships from the Cerritos Performing Arts Center, Tomorrow’s Stars at Orange County Performing Arts Center, the Kollaboration Classical Music, and the Yamaha Corporate of America.
Ms. Choi is presently a Full time Music Teacher at Vienna Music Institute. From 2010-2013, she was a full time music instructor at Orchepia School of the Arts and a part time Instructional Music Assistant at Fairmont Private School, Edgemont Campus. From 2009-2010 she was a full time Music Director at Suva Intermediate School in Montebello Unified School District. She also maintains a successful flute studio of 30 students in Orange County since 2004. She is in demand throughout Southern California as a soloist, orchestral, and chamber musician.
