Francine Ross, flute/bass flute
Francine Pancost earned her Bachelors from the Eastman School of Music, studying with Joseph Mariano, and Masters from U.S.C. Francine has been heard live on KUSC, KFAC radio and many recordings. She has performed with the Santa Barbara Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Chuck Mangione, Foothill Artists Trio and Five Winds Quintet including performing for the Da Camera Society, Southbay Chamber Music Series and LACMA. Francine performed in the Aspen Music Festival and Chamber Orchestras and has filmed for Bravo TV.
She conducted the Los Angeles Music Center’s Active Arts GYCB flute choir, with 81 flutists, performing in Disney Hall. Francine was requested to lead a flute choir reading session for the National Flute Association convention, conducting 15 newly composed pieces. She currently plays in Song of the Angels Flute Choir and Flute Sonic Flute Orchestra. Francine is also currently Director/Conductor of the Jewel City Flute Choir. She has just begun a new Publication company "SilverWinds" including 3 of her arrangements, Francine continues to arrange new pieces for flute ensemble.
Mrs. Pancost maintains an active teaching studi0. Her students have been selected as a Yamaha Young Artist, Young Musicians’ Foundation Disney Orchestra, YMF scholarships; including the “Henry Mancini”, Pasadena Soloist competition, ASCAP scholarship, Music Center “Spotlight Award”, Spokane Symphony, Tacoma Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Music Teachers National Assoc. state soloist winner, National Foundation for the Arts winner, National Flute Association National convention High School Flute Choir & Master class with Carol Wincenc.
Francine Pancost’s advanced students have continued their education at the Eastman School of Music, Julliard, Curtis Institute of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory, Cornell, Wellesley, Duke, Princeton, Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, Peabody Institute, U.S.C., and Chethams School of Music in England.
