Sheryl Porter fell in love with the flute and started playing at age 7. She studied with Francine Ross Pancost, and played with the Pasadena Young Musician's Orchestra while attending Cal State Northridge.
She played for weddings and funerals for 20 years, then joined others again in 2008. She currently plays with the Jewel City Flute Choir, and Song of Angels, and has also enjoyed playing with Sterling Flute Choir and Silver Sounds. She has played the contrabass flute since 2013, and it has become her favorite instrument.
